Ayreon „01011001: Live Beneath The Waves“
Ein Ayreon-Live-Konzert ist ein einzigartiges Spektakel. Eine riesige Produktion mit Musikern von höchstem Niveau verbinden sich zu einer bombastischen Show. Die Unregelmäßigkeit der Shows macht sie so speziell. Im September 2023 hat Arjen Lucassen fünf Vorstellungen von ‚01011001 – Live Beneath the Waves‘ im Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, Niederlande, ausverkauft. Über die Show sagt Arjen Lucassen: „Als ich das Album 01011001 im Jahr 2007 schrieb, war es nie dafür gedacht, live gespielt zu werden. Also konnte ich es so kompliziert machen, wie ich wollte, mit unzähligen Instrumentalisten und nicht weniger als 17 Sängern!“
Ayreon-Mastermind Arjen Lucassen und Keyboarder Joost van den Broek ist es gelungen, einen Großteil der Originalbesetzung des Albums 01011001 und viele besondere Gäste zu versammeln, darunter Simone Simons (Epica), Damian Wilson (Threshold, Arena), Anneke van Giersbergen, Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Tom Englund (Evergrey), Daniel Gildenlow (Pain of Salvation), Marcela Bovio (MaYan), Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), John Jaycee Cuijpers (Praying Mantis). Maggy Luyten (Beautiful Sin), Michael Mills (Toehider) und Wudstik plus viele weitere unglaubliche Musiker.
Die Band bestand aus den besten Instrumentalisten des Genres – Ed Warby (Schlagzeug), Johan van Stratum (Bass), Timo Somers (Gitarre), Marcel Coenen (Gitarre), und Joost Van Den Broek (Keyboards). Auch Mastermind Arjen Lucassen tritt in Erscheinung.
