die21stundenWährend der Olympischen Spiele in München dringen am 5. September 1972 Mitglieder der palästinensischen Terrororganisation „Schwarzer September“ in das Olympiadorf ein, töten zwei israelische Sportler und nehmen neun weitere als Geiseln. Ihre Forderung: Die Freilassung von mehr als 200 politischen Häftlingen.
Doch die israelische Regierung zeigt sich unnachgiebig und die deutschen Behörden um Polizeichef Schreiber (William Holden) planen einen Zugriff zur Befreiung der Sportler. Als die Terroristen sich in die Enge getrieben fühlen, machen sie ihre Drohung wahr und töten ihre Geiseln.
