Bei der chinesischen Familie Chum herrscht Panik und Angst, denn in ihrer Festung geht das Grauen um: Es kommt zu seltsamen Dingen, Schwärme von schwarzen Schmetterlingen greifen Bewohner an und töten diese bestialisch.

Als es immer mehr Opfer zu beklagen gibt, macht sich ein freiwilliger Trupp bestehend aus Abenteurern und Kriegern auf, um die unterirdischen Gänge unterhalb der Festung zu durchsuchen, denn man vermutet einen bösen Zauber dahinter. Es ist bekannt, dass in diesen Gängen der Schriftsteller Tien Fong lebt. Hat er etwas mit diesen mörderischen Angriffen zu tun?
