Autor
Steven Runcimans (1903-2000) gehört zu den bedeutendsten Historikern der Kruezzüge un des Byzantinischen Reiches. Er lehrte Byzantinische Kunst an der Universität Istanbul und war von 1960 bis 1975 Präsident des Britischen Archäologischen Instituts in Ankara.
