Basierend auf einer wahren Geschichte.

1948 – Die junge Mutter Mira lebt in einem Dorf nahe der israelischen Grenze -nichtahnend, dass sich über den Köpfen ihrer friedvollen Gemeinschaft Unheil zusammenbraut. Der Filmemacher Hassanin wird beauftragt, einen Überfall auf das Dorf zu dokumentieren, den die ägyptische Führung beschlossen hat. Mit den heranrollenden Panzern und Soldaten konfrontiert, steht die Gemeinschaft vor der Entscheidung zu fliehen, oder ihr neues Leben mit allen Mitteln zu verteidigen. Gerade die Tapferkeit Miras wird zum Sinnbild eines neuen Landes.
