Mark Wingfield "Tales From The Dreaming City"

markMit dem 2015er Album „Proof of Light“ zeigte der vorwärts strebende britische E-Gitarrist Mark Wingfield, dass er den impressionistischen Spuren solch abenteuerlustiger Sechs-Saiten-Entdecker wie David Tom, Terje Rypdal, Adrian Belew, Steve Howe und Allan Holdsworth folgte.
Diese atemraubende Veröffentlichung, seine siebte Gesamteinspielung und erste für MoonJune Records, erntete kritische Kritiken von der Musikpresse. „Wingfields Gitarrenspiel ist mysteriös, majestätisch und lodernd“, schrieb Guitar Player, während All About Jazz krähte, „Wingfield lässt seine Gitarre heulen, singen und um Gnade schreien inmitten flackernder Single Note Runs.“ Improvijazzation Nation meinte, dass „Marks Gitarre wird dich in Orte führen, die du noch nie zuvor erforscht hast „, während Music That Matters ihn einfach einen“ sechssaitigen geflügelten, improvisierenden Schamanen „nannte.
Nun kommt sein neues Album, das nahtlos an den Vorgänger anschließt. Packend und treibend, und verstärkt durch die großartigen Yaron StaviI (hass) und Asaf Sirkis (drums). Als Special guest ist zudem Dominique Vantomme auf einigen Titeln zu hören!
