Various „Easter Parade – 29 Easter Eggs For The Springtime Basket“

Während in Europa der Osterspaziergang – mit Glück in der Frühjahrssonne – Tradition ist, trifft man sich in den Städten Nordamerikas nach der kirchlichen Messe am Ostersonntag zur traditionellen Easter Parade. Der legendäre Komponist Irving Berlin schrieb die Musik zu dem Hollywood Klassiker Easter Parade (in Deutschland Osterspaziergang) mit Fred Astaire und Ginger Rogers. Der Titelsong ist hier in der Interpretation von Sarah Vaughan & Billy Eckstine zu hören!

Egbert The Easter Egg ist eine seltene Aufnahme, die seinerzeit für Kinder aufgelegt wurde und zum Klassiker avancierte, hier in der Version von Betty Clooney (Schwester von Rosemary Clooney und Tante von George Clooney) zu hören. Von der seinerzeit 7-jährigen Britin Beverley Bunt gibt es My Choc’late Rabbit zu hören, eine seltene Aufnahme wie auch die ihrer Landsleute Rex and The Minors mit ihrer Triumph-Single oder die beiden Seiten einer extrem raren Schellack-Scheibe des Briten Frederic Curzon – in brillanter Soundqualität. Viele seltene Aufnahmen erscheinen zum ersten Mal auf CD.

Stilistisch reicht die Bandbreite von Rock ’n‘ Roll, Country und R&B bis zu Jazz / Easy Listening und Pop, mit Künstlern wie etwa Noël Coward, Johnny Hodges, Jo Stafford, Jeri Southern, Chris Connor, June Christy, Vera Lynn und nicht zuletzt Bing Crosby.
