Walter Wanderley e Portinho „Órgão Sax Sexy“

Der brasilianische Organist Walter Wanderley war einer der wahren Meister seines Instruments, sowohl in Brasilien als auch auf der ganzen Welt. Er ist bekannt für seine Lounge- und Bossa Nova-Musik. Mit 46 aufgenommenen Soloalben in seiner Diskographie (sowohl in Brasilien als auch in den USA) erreichte er im September 1966 Platz 26 in den Billboard-Pop-Charts, was einen klaren Weg für weiteren Erfolg eröffnete.

Hier werden zwei seiner besten Alben vorgestellt, die beide zum ersten Mal auf CD erscheinen: Órgão, Sax é Sexy (Philips – P632.721 L) und O Sucessoé Samba (Odeon – MOFB 3.204). Als Bonus wurden vier Wanderley-Hits hinzugefügt.

Zwei wunderbare Alben auf einer CD. Brasilianischer Bossa Nova der besten Kategorie. Davon kann man nicht genug hören. Viele Titel stammen aus der Feder bekannter brasiliansicher Komponisten und sind weltweit bekannt geworden wie z.B.: „Eu sei que vou te amar“, „Samba de uma nota só“ oder „Garota de Ipanema“ (Text: Vinícius de Moraes) (alle 3 Titel aus der Feder von Tom Jobim).
